As a broker in Chicago with many buyers looking in a limited inventory market, I see many selling agents who refuse to accommodate showing requests for buying agents. The thing I ask myself is does this homeowner and seller realize their agent is too busy to show and does not respond to requests in timely manner or refuses requests to show? It seems doubtful so I wanted to mention in today's blog what to ask your agent before hiring them to ensure you have the right agent for your needs:

1. Will you always be there to show our unit?

2. Will we allow for multiple offers after receiving one solid offer?

3. How often will you show the unit?

4. Will you allow showings even if you cannot make it if you have another client or try to accommodate all showing requests?

Lastly, sellers should ask themselves how quickly they want to sell a unit and realize that they might be somewhat inconvenienced by showings when a listing first goes live online but it will be well worth it as the unit will sell for a higher price and be on market less days which in the long run makes the process overall a better and more convenient and quicker sale.
